WHAT DOES A LUMECCA TREATMENT FEEL LIKE?

Patients report a tingly or a mild snap sensation. Most patients report to tolerate the treatment well with no or very minimal discomfort. There is no need for an anesthetic.

WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME?

There is no physical downtime and social downtime for most patients is very minimal. An IPL treatment targets and causes the pigment to surface first and then it dissipates. Depending on the severity of underlaying pigment each patient will experience a different recovery and social downtime. However, make-up can be applied 1 day post-treatment so most people do return to their normal activities right away.

HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?

Depending on the treatment area, Lumecca treatment typically takes 20-30 minutes.

HOW MANY TREATMENT SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

The recommended treatment protocol is a series of three sessions. However, most patients do see a significant improvement in just 1-2 sessions compared to a standard IPL which require 4-6 sessions.
